Meetings

All of the Council's meetings are held at the Betty Webster committee room, Colehill Memorial Hall, Colehill. Parishioners may attend these meetings and are given an opportunity to ask questions prior to the commencement of the meeting.

Calendar of Meetings

Council Meetings commence at 7.30 pm

Highways and Plans Committees commence at 7.15 pm

Finance and General Purposes Committees commence at 8.00 pm when following Highways and Plans Committee, or 7.30 pm when being held on a separate evening.

Times sometimes vary so please telephone the Clerk (01202 887786) to confirm the times of a particular meeting.

Allotments: Under Section 23 of the Small Holdings and Allotments Act 1908 a local council is required to provide allotment gardens for personal cultivation where it is of the opinion that a demand exists in the parish. Moreover, under that Section, a local council must take into consideration any written representations for the provision of allotments made to it by any six parliamentary electors or council tax payers resident in the parish. The Council has a waiting list containing 58 names.

East Dorset District Council has agreed to lease an area of land at Bytheway for the Council to provide allotments. Two ecological surveys have been conducted on the site and they can be read here Winter Ecological Survey and Summer Ecological Survey . A soil analysis reporthas also been conducted.

Please contact the Parish Clerk if you wish to discuss any matter relating to the Council's plans for allotments.

At the Council meeting on 18 September it was agreed that the Council would apply for planning permission to provide allotments atBytheway (7 for, 4 against, 1 abstention). The application will be made in early 2010.

 

Middlehill Road Traffic Calming: An engineer from Dorset County Council attended the Council meeting on 21 July 2009. He presented the details of the traffic survey, the safety audit findings and any engineering recommendations relating to the safety audit. Read his presentation.
